If you are looking to travel to the Dominican Republic, La Romana is one of the best places to visit. With beautiful beaches and a tourist friendly local, you will find wonderful things to do on your trip! Don’t forget your camera; you will be needing it to capture all the beautiful sights. Sunscreen is a must, since you will spend time at the beach-whether or not you are a beach bum or a surfer.
For the active sort, head to the beach! There is surfing, kayaking and plenty of other water sports to indulge in. You will also want to scuba dive or snorkel, the water boasts tropical fish and beautiful coral reefs. You will also want to take in a guided tour of the jungle in order to see the local wild life and vegetation. For those of you that golf there is also awesome golf courses.
For those of you history buffs, La Romana has a deep history and wonderful archeological finds. You can take an outdoor tour of ruins or visit a museum to learn about the history of the local people. Take a camera; you will not see such amazing sights anywhere!
If you are looking to shop, take a visit to the Altos de Chavon Village. Not only will you get some history in, but you will have some excellent food and be able to shop for handmade items from local merchants.
When dining in La Romana, there is excellent variety available. You will find Spanish food, American food and Caribbean. There is a variety of price options and casual to fancy dining.
